TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The football team continued preparations for its Southeastern Conference home opener against Mississippi with a two hour practice, Wednesday afternoon at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.
"I've been really pleased with the way our players have responded as the week progresses to try to get ready for what is a little bit of a difficult preparation in terms of Ole Miss' offensive style," said Alabama head coach Nick Saban. "I think this is a very good offensive team that we are playing. They have scored a lot of points this year, and they have a lot of speed. This is a game that should be all about what we have at stake. This is the most important game of our season because this is the game we play this week."
Mississippi will be playing its first conference game of the season as it enters Tuscaloosa with a 3-1 overall record. Alabama will open the home portion of its league slate as the Tide has already defeated Arkansas in its first game on the league circuit.
