TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The football team held a two-hour session in shells on Friday afternoon at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields. The Crimson Tide will have one additional practice on Saturday prior to its first game week of the 2012 season.
"We've had a good week this week and really improved on some things," said Alabama head coach Nick Saban. "We've got a lot of work to do still though, especially depth wise, but we are looking forward to the first game. I'm sure our players are tired of practicing against each other and look forward to the challenge of practicing something different that they can get prepared for."
Alabama took a deeper look at Michigan during the Tide's practice on Friday, which marked the 23rd session of fall camp. Following Saturday's practice, the team will have Sunday off before its final five practices leading up to the season opener against the Wolverines on Saturday, September 1. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. CT, at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will air nationally on ABC.
