
Soccer Summer Update: Second Edition

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Members of the Alabama soccer team continue to stay busy over the summer months as several players are in the midst of their club campaigns. Rolltide.com will periodically check in on these players and their accomplishments. This is the second edition.
Molly Atherton - Helped the U19 GSA 92 Phoenix Red team to the Region III Regional Semi-finals before losing to the eventual regional champion, Dallas Texans. The Freshman All-SEC selection was invited to the U19 ODP Interregional Camp to be held July 7-10, in Downingtown, Pa., at the Philadelphia Independence's training center. Players at the camp will get the opportunity to interact with the WPS coaches and players and be trained by the Philadelphia Independence coaching staff.
Ariel Armijo - Helped her U19 Real Colorado team win the Region IV Regional Championship to earn a berth to the US Youth Soccer National Championship, July 26-31, in Phoenix, Ariz., at Reach 11 Sports Complex. Armijo, in front of roughly 2,000 fans scored the first goal of the match in the 16th minute in what turned out to be a dramatic win for Real in stoppage time.
K.K. Duffy - Helped her Atlanta Silverbacks W-League team clinch a playoff berth with a 2-0 win over the Dayton Dutch Lions. The Silverbacks are currently in first place with a 7-1 record.
Justine Bernier - Continued her play with the Hamilton FC Rage. The senior has started all nine games for the Rage and has been busy in net tallying 58 saves on the season.
