
Taylor Dugas Earns Second Team All-SEC Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - University of Alabama junior center fielder Taylor Dugas was selected as a Second Team All-Southeastern Conference outfielder, as selected by the coaches and announced by the league office Tuesday. Dugas was also selected to the SEC All-Defensive Team as one of the top defensive outfielders in the conference.
This season, Dugas a Lafayette, La., native, posted a .343 average while starting all 56 games in center field for the Crimson Tide. He finished second on the team in hitting during the regular season, while leading the club during SEC play with a .317 average. He had team-highs in home runs (5), triples (4), and doubles (19), giving him a club leading .540 slugging percentage. Additionally, his 38 walks also led the team, helping him to a team-best .453 on-base percentage.
When compared to SEC competition, Dugas was tied for third in doubles and runs scored, was fourth in triples, sixth in on-base percentage, seventh in walks, and ninth in slugging percentage. For his career, Dugas ranks seventh all-time at Alabama with 54 career doubles, eighth in runs scored with 186, and 10th in hits with 252.
An outstanding defensive outfielder, Dugas earned his first selection to the SEC All-Defensive team. He finished the season with a .986 fielding percentage, making just two errors in 145 chances. Dugas is one of two players on the roster to start all 56 games this season, and has not made an error in his last 75 chances, which covers the last 25 games.
The seven-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide will open the SEC Baseball Tournament on Wednesday morning with a 9:30 a.m. CT game against the two-seeded and 18th-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks from Regions Park in Hoover, Ala. The game will be televised on CSS and will be available on ESPN3.com.
