TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Retin Ojomoh has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the University of Alabama men's basketball team, head coach Anthony Grant announced Friday.
Ojomoh, a 6-1, 205-pound guard from Antwerp, Belgium, is currently a member of the Belgian under-20 national team.
"Retin will bring great speed and strength to our backcourt," Grant said. "He has a maturity level that you don't see in a lot of 17-year-olds. The experience he has received playing in international competition will prepare him well for taking the next step in his career. Our staff is very excited about Retin joining our family and he has a very bright future."
Currently Ojomoh is a member of the KangoeroesBoom in the Belgian League second division that recently won the league title. He was also the MVP of the prestigious Belgian Christmas Tournament and has competed in the U16 and U18 European Championships.
