TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama women's soccer team officially closed the 2010 campaign when it hosted the annual end of the season awards banquet at Chuck's Fish. Coaches, players, parents and administrators attended the dinner honoring the success of the fall season.
Head coach Todd Bramble distributed awards, voted on by the team, honoring certain players that made a difference during the season. For their hard work throughout the year, senior Hailey Hull won the Coaches Award, senior Victoria Frederick was named offensive MVP, junior Justine Bernier won defensive MVP, and senior midfielder Rosaly Petriello won all-around MVP accolades.
"Our annual honors banquet is a very special event for us each year," Bramble said. "It gives us one last opportunity to come together as a close-knit group and celebrate the victories and cherish the memories that inevitably come out of each season. It also gives us the opportunity to say thanks to another graduating class who, certainly in this case, was a special group. The night was extremely enjoyable and an appropriate way to close the chapter on the 2010 season."
Petriello finished her soccer career off with an impressive senior season. The midfielder from St. Catharine's, Ontario, started and played in all 18 games this past season while logging 1,367 minutes.
