
Schade Wins High Jump at Meyo Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Krystle Schade finished first in the high jump to lead the Alabama women's track and field team on the first day of the Meyo Invitational at the Loftus Center on Notre Dame's Campus.
Schade cleared 5-11.5 to match her indoor personal best and win the high jump competition by an inch. Schade cleared 5-11.5 on her second attempt to finish two inches shy of the school record.
In the weight throw, junior Amethyst Holmes threw a personal best 63-7 to finish third. Holmes' throw shattered her previous personal best by more than three feet. Freshman Aoife Hickey finished 14th with a throw of 51-0 while Kathryn Stowers finished 17th with a throw of 50-7.
Juniors Kaylon Eppinger and Audra Frimpong advanced to the 60m hurdle finals after turning in times of 8.48 and 8.66 in the preliminary round. The pair will compete in the finals Saturday at 2:20 p.m. CST.
The two-day meet will continue Saturday morning with the women's 3,000m at 9 a.m. CST.
