TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - University of Alabama head baseball coach Mitch Gaspard announced today that Saturday's kid's clinic will be postponed due to impending weather. A date for the clinic has not been decided at this time. All other events included in the baseball Fan Day will continue as planned.
The Kid's Clinic was to start the Fan Day, but with expected poor weather conditions, the coaching staff decided to move the clinic to a later date.
The Grand Slammers Barbeque will continue as scheduled at The Zone at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Doors for the barbeque will open at 11 a.m., and tickets can be purchased at the door. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.
Fans attending the barbeque, which runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., will have a chance to meet the players on the 2011 squad, Coach Gaspard will give a scouting report on the 2011 team, and the Crimson Tide players will be available for autographs. There will also be door prizes, schedule cards and posters, as well as Alabama Grand Slammers merchandise for sale.
Following the Grand Slammers Barbeque, the team will hold a scrimmage at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. First pitch for the scrimmage is scheduled for approximately 2 p.m.
