
Gymnastics Jumps to No. 3 Nationally

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama gymnastics team jumped two spots to No. 3 in the latest national rankings after posting the second-highest score in the country this year to beat Georgia in Athens last Friday.
For the third week in a row, Alabama bettered its season high, scoring a 197.675 in Athens, just .05 behind Florida's NCAA-best mark. The Gators remain the nation's No. 1-ranked team, followed by Stanford at No. 2. Oklahoma is No. 4 followed by Utah at No. 5 and Georgia at No. 6. Alabama's next opponent, the Michigan Wolverines, check in at No. 9.
Alabama is ranked second on the floor exercise, third on the vault, fifth on the balance beam and 11th on the uneven bars.
Senior Kayla Hoffman, whose 39.675 in the all-around against Georgia is tied for the highest total in the nation this season, is ranked 11th in the all-around, second on the vault, seventh on the balance beam and 20th on the floor exercise. Junior Geralen Stack-Eaton, who has also posted a 39.675 in the all-around this season, is ranked second on the balance beam and 12th on the vault.
Freshman Diandra Milliner is ranked fifth on the vault and seventh on the floor exercise while sophomore Ashley Sledge is 12th on the vault and 13th on the uneven bars. Freshmen Kim Jacob and Sarah DeMeo are also ranked on the balance beam, giving the Tide four spots in the top 25, coming in at No. 21 and 22, respectively.
Alabama takes on Michigan in its last regular-season road meet Friday, March 4 starting at 7 p.m. ET. The Tide then returns home for its regular-season finale against SEC rival LSU, Friday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available online at RollTide.com and at the Alabama Ticket Office (205.348.2262) located in the lobby of Coleman Coliseum.
