
Women's Tennis Collects Seven Wins on Saturday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The women's tennis team picked up seven wins on Saturday at the Memphis Collegiate Invitational where the Crimson Tide will play in a pair of finals on Sunday.
In doubles, senior Courtney McLane and junior Antonia Foehse topped Memphis' Courtney Collins and Kelly Gray, 8-5, while senior Taylor Lindsey and freshman Emily Zabor took down Mississippi's Iris Verboven and Paige Keating, 8-1. Also representing the Tide in doubles on Saturday was junior Alexa Guarachi and sophomore Mary Anne Macfarlane, who were topped by the Rebel pair if Kristi Boxx and Abby Guthrie at the USTA/ITA Intercollegiate Indoor Championships.
In singles, Foehse and Zabor both won a pair of matches to advance to the singles finals of their draw with Foehse beating Arkansas' Laurie Gingras 6-2, 6-2, and Tulsa's Maria Sant'Anna by the same score. Zabor also won a pair of straight-set victories, first against Susan Mc Rann of Arizona, 7-5, 6-3, and then over Catherine Parenteau, 6-3, 6-3. McLane also collected a victory in singles in the consolation round with a 6-4, 6-3 decision over Memphis' Mariya Slupska, 6-4, 6-3.
Matches will resume on Sunday morning in Memphis.
