Head Coach Wendell Hudson
On the intensity level:
"I thought our intensity level was the best that we've had since I've been here. For 40 minutes, the intensity level was where it should have been. Defensively, we dominated the basketball game. If we hadn't committed so many fouls, there's no telling how good this team would have looked tonight. The effort from top to bottom was good. When you hear tennis shoes squeaking and the basketball you know that we are playing on the defensive end of the court, and that generates easy baskets. The other thing we did tonight was that we did an excellent job of sharing the basketball. You put those two together, and you can have a night like this."
On forcing 25 turnovers and having 14 of their own:
"In this situation, we made some passes or were trying to pass and be too unselfish with the ball. We can live with that. One of the coaches on the bench said we've either got to be better or they've got to be worse. The way we were playing defensively just generated easy baskets. It was a fun way to play."
On Aneesah Daniels:
"She's that young lady that's going to get fouls here and there because people are going to flop. She clears out a lot of room when she goes after the rebound. She's a handful going to get that basketball as long as she will go get it with two hands. She's a freshman, and we are just trying to make sure she doesn't have those peaks and valleys and stays on a level playing ground. She did a good job for us tonight."
#23 Ericka Russell, Guard
On the keys to tonight's game:
"This is the way we have been practicing, coming out with energy, playing all game and playing with a team effort. Playing with a lot of intensity, that's what we have been working on just trying to get ready for the Virgin Islands, so that's how we came out today. Just kind of playing the way we practice. We are pretty excited about the win."
On if things were clicking for the team especially after the first half:
"I feel like everyone is kind of getting it as the season progresses along. I think we have been working hard in practice. Everybody's chemistry is just kind of starting to get all together. Hopefully we continue to get better as we go along."
On the challenges in the second half:
"The biggest challenge is keeping the same effort. Coming out how we came out in the first half with a lot of energy. Still playing team ball even though we knew we were up by a lot we still had to continue to compete and get better. We don't compete for Georgia Southern; we try to get better for the remainder of the season."
#3 Jasmine Robinson, Guard
On her intensity and aggressive nature during the first half:
"Like I said before, as long as I stay aggressive I'll be successful, so that's all that matters to me. Whenever I can help my team out, if someone kicks it to me and I feel like I have a way to drive to the basket, I am going to be aggressive and try to finish it the best that I can."
On the challenges overcame against Georgia Southern:
"I think we overcame tiredness because we have been going so many days. I think we only had one or two days off. That's kind of hard on our legs. I know a lot of people were tired today. We pushed through as long as we can to try to play the best defense we can so I think that's what we did."
On if continuing this playing streak on the road will be a challenge:
"Yes I really do because it's not easy going this many days in a row. It's not easy. Especially the way we play. Staying mentally focused is going to be the big key."
