WINDERMERE, Fla. - Alabama slipped to fifth place after the second round of the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational on Monday at the par-72, 7,544-yard Isleworth Country Club.
The Crimson Tide shot 12-over-par 300 in difficult scoring conditions and sit at 15-over 591 after 36 holes. Texas maintained its tournament lead with an 8-over-par round of 296 and have a 10-stroke lead on the field at 2-under 574. LSU posted the day's lowest score with a 1-over-par 289 to move into second place at 8-over 584. North Florida is in third place (+11, 587) with Stanford in fourth (+14, 590).
Sophomore Cory Whitsett led the Tide in round two with a 1-over-par round of 73. He moved into the top 10 in a tie for ninth at 1-over-par 145. Justin Thomas, who entered the round in a tie for second place, struggled home in home in the second round with a 78 to slip into a tie for 14th at 3-overpar 147.
Senior Hunter Hamrick shot 74 on Monday and is tied for 23rd after 36 holes. He carded a 75 in the opening round and is 5-over 149 entering the third round.
Lee Knox rebounded in the second round with a 3-over-par 75 after an 81 on Sunday and is tied for 56th place. Bobby Wyatt carded an 80 on Monday and did not count toward the Tide's team total. He is tied for 53rd at 11-over 155.
Alabama will play with Stanford and California in Tuesday's final round and are scheduled to tee off at 7:50 a.m.
