
Women's Basketball Hosts No. 20 Arkansas on Sunday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The women's basketball team (11-6, 0-4 SEC) will welcome the 20th-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks (14-2, 2-2 SEC) to Coleman Coliseum on Sunday, Jan. 16 for the Crimson Tide's second of three consecutive home games. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. CT.
Arkansas owns a narrow 14-13 lead in the series; however Alabama won the last meeting, which was played in Fayetteville, 69-58. The first game between the Tide and Razorbacks was played on Jan. 26, 1980.
Alabama has struggled shooting the ball as of late averaging 27.3 percent from the floor in Southeastern Conference play. Despite that, the Tide still ranks fourth in the league in scoring offense with a 70.4 point per game average. Senior Tierney Jenkins continues lead the conference in scoring with 17.4 points per game and rebounds with 10.9 boards per outing.
Arkansas was perfect throughout the non-conference schedule racking up a 12-0 record that included a win against then No. 10 Oklahoma. The Razorbacks have suffered a pair of losses in the SEC, with their most recent coming on Thursday to Georgia. Junior Lyndsay Harris had 26 points in the loss, and leads Arkansas for the season with 14.3 points per game.
Sunday's contest will be one of three remaining in Coleman Coliseum for Alabama as it will play its first game in newly renovated Foster Auditorium on Sunday, Feb. 13.
