TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama football team practiced for two-hours in shells (shorts, shoulder pads and helmets) Thursday afternoon inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility. It was the Crimson Tide's final practice before Saturday's top-10 showdown at Arkansas.
The Tide have been preparing all week for a fast-paced, physical battle against the Razorbacks and know nothing will come easy.
"Everybody has to work hard," junior running back Mark Ingram said. "Just being able to show up isn't going to get us a victory; we're going to have to work hard. They're not going to give us anything. We're going to have to earn everything we do on Saturday."
Alabama focused on special teams today, as they do every Thursday during game week. Special Teams has been a bright spot for this year's Crimson Tide squad with improvement in kickoff coverage and kickoff returns. Trent Richardson's 91-yard kickoff return for a touchdown last week against Duke was the first for Alabama since Tyrone Prothro ran back a kickoff against Kentucky in October of 2004.
The Tide will hold a final walkthrough in Tuscaloosa Friday before flying into Northwest Arkansas later in the afternoon. No. 1 Alabama will face off against No. 10 Arkansas Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville, Ark. The game will be televised nationally by CBS Sports with Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson calling the game from the booth and Tracy Wolfson reporting from the sideline.
