SULPHUR, La. - Former Alabama All-Americans Charlotte Morgan and Kelly Kretschman aided the USSSA Florida Pride to a 2-1 series victory against the Chicago Bandits in the National Pro Fastpitch championship series. The Pride pitched a complete game with a two-hit, two-run, seven-strikeout performance in the series finale.
In addition to Morgan and Kretschman, Alabama was also represented in the series by another former All-American, Ashley Holcombe at catcher for the Chicago Bandits.

Kretschman followed Morgan's efforts with a two-run single to right, resulting in a 6-1 Pride lead. The final result was a 7-2 victory for the Florida Pride over the Bandits. The championship is the first ever in USSSA Florida Pride history.
On the season, Kretschman and Morgan were among the leaders of the Pride at the plate.
