TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Of all the organizations that will have a presence at Wednesday's University of Alabama "Get on Board Day", only one gives UA students the chance to be an NCAA Division I athlete.
The University of Alabama women's rowing team, in its fifth year of varsity competition, recruits athletes each fall who have no rowing experience but are eager to work hard and proudly represent the Crimson Tide.
"Get on Board Day" is the prelude to an open meeting that will be held Thursday, Aug. 26 at 8 p.m. in Room 247 of Bryant Hall for those interested in joining the team.
The meeting, led by the Tide coaching staff, is informational in nature. All interested students are encouraged to attend and learn about what it takes to become part of the Capstone's newest varsity sport.
