Soccer, Volleyball and Cross Country Hold Media Luncheon on Monday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Members of the soccer, men's and women's cross country, and volleyball teams took part in the annual preseason media event on Monday that allowed several representatives from newspapers, television stations and radio stations to get a glimpse into the 2010 seasons. Representing the soccer team was head coach Todd Bramble, senior forwards Brooke Rogers and Victoria Fredrick, and senior midfielder Rosaly Petriello. In attendance for the volleyball team was head coach Judy Green, senior right side Alyssa Meuth and junior setter Stephanie Riley. The participating members of the cross country teams were head coaches Joe Walker and Randy Hasenbank.
Following a brief meet-and-greet session reporters were able to sit and chat with each coach and student-athlete individually.
Soccer kicks off its regular season Friday, Aug. 20, when it hosts Samford at 7 p.m. CT at the Alabama Soccer Stadium. Volleyball will open its competitive season at the Hawkeye Challenge in Iowa City, Iowa, from Aug. 27-29. It will play at home for the first time Sept. 3 during the annual Bama Bash. The women's cross country team begins the season in Nashville, Tenn., in the Belmont Invitational on Sept. 3. The men's cross country season starts a week later at the UTC Powerade Invite in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Sept. 10.
