JASPER, Ga. - The Alabama soccer team will cap off its training camp with its final exhibition match of the fall as it will face Mercer on Saturday, Aug. 14 at 2:00 p.m. ET. The two teams will meet in Atlanta at the Tophat Soccer Complex.
The Crimson Tide wrapped up its final day of training camp at the Big Canoe Resort with a session that involved some offense-versus-defense and a warm up that stressed possession. Alabama will stay the night at the resort before heading to Atlanta on Saturday.
The two teams will be meeting for the second consecutive season during exhibition play. The Bears defeated the Tide 1-0 last year in Tuscaloosa. Alabama is 6-0 all-time against Mercer in the regular season.
Head coach Todd Bramble is no stranger to the Mercer soccer program. Bramble played his collegiate ball with the Bears where he lettered four years and was an All-Conference goalkeeper in 1988. Bramble earned a degree in business management from Mercer in 1995.
The match at the Tophat Soccer Complex will mark the homecoming of former Tophat players and staff coach K.K. and Meghan Duffy along with assistant coach Jason Lowe.
