
Men's Golf Releases 2010-11 Schedule

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama men's golf coach Jay Seawell announced the release of the Crimson Tide's 2010-11 schedule on Friday that features some of the most competitive tournaments in the nation.
The Crimson Tide will begin the fall portion of its schedule with a return to the Carpet Capital Collegiate in Rocky Face, Ga., at the Farm Golf Course on Sept. 10-12. Alabama will then head north to tee it up for the first time at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational at the prestigious Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, Ill., Sept. 17-19.
Next on the schedule, UA will return home to host the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate at the Old Overton Club in Birmingham where the field will play 36 holes on Monday, Oct. 11 and the final 18 on Tuesday, Oct. 12. The Crimson Tide has captured the last four team titles and three of the last four individual titles at the Jerry Pate.
Alabama will close fall competition at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational in Windermere, Fla., Oct. 24-26. Bud Cauley claimed medalist honors at Isleworth last season while UA finished fifth as a team.
The spring season opens with a familiar stop in Rio Mar Beach, Puerto Rico, as the Tide takes part in the Puerto Rico Classic at the Rio Mar Country Club Feb. 20-22. Alabama then travels to Aiken, S.C., to tee it up at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate at the Palmetto Golf Club March 7-8.
UA's final three regular season events will take place in Georgia, beginning with the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship at Hawk's Ridge Golf Club in Ball Ground, Ga., March 20-22. Alabama then travels to Greensboro the following week to take part in the Linger Longer Invitational at the Landing Golf Course at Reynolds Plantation. Regular season play concludes April 2-3 at the Administaff Augusta State Invitational.
Postseason play begins April 15-17 with the SEC Championships being held at Sea Island, Ga. NCAA Regional action gets underway May 19 and the NCAA Championships begin May 31 at the Karsten Creek Golf Course in Stillwater, Okla.
