ATLANTA - Senior Aaron Fleshner and sophomore Carrie Dragland earned NCAA Championship bids on day two of the NCAA Zone B Championships held at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center this weekend.
Dragland took second place off the three-meter board, scoring 688.55 points over 12 dives, to earn her second trip to the NCAA Championships. The Woodinville, Wash., native earned honorable mention All-American honors off the one-meter and platform events at last year's national championships.
Fleshner, who was seventh after the preliminary round of the one-meter board with 342.05 points, posted 381.70 points over the last six dives in finals, the second-highest total of the evening session, to jump to fourth place overall with 723.75 points.
Fleshner also took fourth off the three-meter on Friday, guaranteeing him a spot at his fourth NCAA Championships. A three-year first-team All-American, Fleshner has finished as high as third at the national championships.
Junior Adam Booher, who finished seventh off the three-meter on day one of the Zone B Championships, was 18th off the one-meter board with 284.45 points. He will have another chance to qualify for the national championships on Sunday when both the men and women compete off the platform.
