Volleyball Adds Kelsey Melito for 2010 Season

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Volleyball head coach Judy Green announced Thursday the addition of Kelsey Melito for the fall 2010 season.
"We are excited about Kelsey joining our team," said Green. "She is a very dedicated, exciting athlete who can provide depth to our backcourt defense. Kelsey is a feisty competitor with a winner's heart. We also love the fact she is committed in the weight room which will be a big plus for her as she transitions to the college game."
Melito, a 5-8 defensive specialist, stared on the varsity volleyball team at The Lovett School in Atlanta. She captained the 2009 Lion squad that finished with a record of 19-16 and a trip to the AA State Finals for the fourth consecutive season.
Melito brings an impressive list of accolades to the Capstone including Georgia High School Association (GHSA) All-Tournament and All-Area Team honors from 2006-09. In addition, she captured GHSA All-State Team recognition in 2008 and 2009. Melito was awarded the Most Athletic Female at The Lovett School for three-straight seasons (2007-09) and was named Lovett Varsity Volleyball MVP in 2006, 2008 and 2009.
In addition to her high school experience, Melito also plays on the Atlanta Boom 18 Diamond Team. For the 2008-09 season she was named MVP, Best All-Around and Most Committed.
