TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama baseball team will host the Georgia Bulldogs in a non-conference game at Regions Park on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.
Alabama and Georgia will not meet during SEC play this season, so the two head coaches got together last season and set up this two-game non-conference series the next two years. The two teams are also scheduled to meet in Gwinnett, Ga., during the 2011 season and it will be recognized as Georgia's home game.
"We've always had good series with Georgia," Alabama head coach Mitch Gaspard said. "We like playing them and they like playing us. We feel like both teams get better. That was something that came about last year. We had an open date and they did as well. They roll off the (SEC) schedule this year, actually the next two years, so we got with (Georgia coach) David Perno and said let's play a single game. We are playing one in Hoover this year and next year we are going to Gwinnett (Ga.) and play them at the Triple-A park."
All seats for the Alabama-Georgia game are general admission and tickets are priced at $10 for adults and $8 for youth (13 and under). Also, UA students and faculty staff can purchase tickets for $5 each. Tickets for this year's game are on sale now through the Alabama Athletic Ticket Office by calling 1.877.TIDETIX or 205.348.2262. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.RollTide.com.
Season tickets for the 2010 season are also available through the Alabama Athletic Ticket Office. The Crimson Tide opens the 2010 season on Saturday, Feb. 20 against the South Alabama Jaguars at 2:05 p.m. at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
