Baseball Team Ranked in NCBWA Preseason Poll

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama baseball team is ranked 32nd in the 2010 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason Top 35, the organization announced Monday afternoon.
The Crimson Tide returns six every day starters and one weekend pitcher off last year’s team that won 37 games and played in the 2009 NCAA Clemson Regional, the school’s 20th all-time postseason appearance.
Alabama is one of eight SEC teams in the NCBWA preseason poll. In addition, the Crimson Tide will play 21 of its 56 games against teams ranked in various preseason polls, including Arkansas (41-24), Florida (42-22), Georgia (38-24), LSU (56-17), Minnesota (40-19), Mississippi (44-20), South Carolina (40-23) and Vanderbilt (37-27).
The Crimson Tide opens the 2010 season on Saturday, Feb. 20 against the South Alabama Jaguars at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
