TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama soccer team in cooperation with Project Angel Tree brought some holiday cheer this winter. The Crimson Tide raised over $600 for the organization and made for a special Christmas for five local children.
The team split up into five groups - called families - and went into competition to raise the most money. Each family was in charge of raising money and using the donations to buy gifts for a child.
After the presents were bought and wrapped, the kids were able to come to Coleman Coliseum and receive their gifts and meet the team.
Project Angel Tree teams up local churches and organizations with the children of incarcerated parents to make for a special holiday season. The organization helps connect the parent with the children through the delivery of gifts.
