• Alabama went with the starting lineup of senior forward Tierney Jenkins, senior forward Katie Hancock, junior guard Ericka Russell, freshman forward/guard Kaneisha Horn and freshman guard Jasmine Robinson. The Crimson Tide is now 2-1 with this starting five.
• Alabama is now 13-3 all-time versus Alabama State and 9-0 at home against the Hornets.
• Today's win marked the Tide's first 7-1 start since the 2002 season.
• Alabama is now 296-129 in Coleman Coliseum.
• Tide improves to 18-1 at home under head coach Wendell Hudson in non-conference action. Alabama has won 18 in a row.
• Senior Tierney Jenkins had her eighth double-double of the season with 15 points and 16 rebounds. For the second straight season she is leading the Southeastern Conference in double-doubles.
• The Tide led by as many as 49 in the game.
• Alabama has won by more than 10 points in six of its seven victories.
• Alabama State was limited to 20 points in the first half and shot just 18.2 percent from the floor. That is the lowest shooting percentage by a Tide opponent in the first half this season. Alabama's defense was even tougher in the second half limiting the Hornets to 9.4 percent from the floor.
• Alabama collected a season-high eight blocks in the win.
• With its 30 points in the paint, the Tide has outscored its opponents 284-214 down low this season.
• Alabama forced 29 turnovers in the game. The Tide opposition is averaging 26.9 turnovers per game.
• Alabama held Alabama State scoreless from the floor for the first 5:17 of the game. In addition, the Tide kept the Hornets from scoring for the first 6:00 of the second half.
• Alabama has had multiple players score double-figure points in every game this season. In tonight's win against Alabama State, four players recorded double digits led by senior Tierney Jenkins with 15, followed by junior Ericka Russell (14) and freshmen Shafontaye Myers (13) and Khristin Lee (10).
• With her 15 points and five blocks against Alabama State, senior Tierney Jenkins becomes the third player in Tide history to rank in the top 15 in scoring, and top 10 in rebounds, steals and blocks.
• Alabama's 49-point win was the largest margin of victory since it beat Savannah State by 54 (102-48) on Dec. 2, 2006.
• Alabama State's 31 points were the lowest scored against the Tide since New Mexico State had the same number on Nov. 27, 1998.
