TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama football team practiced in full pads for two hours Wednesday afternoon as rain forced the Crimson Tide inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility. The Tide continues to prepare for Saturday's SEC West showdown with No. 11 LSU in Baton Rouge, La.
Having not played a game in 14 days when kickoff rolls around on Saturday, head coach Nick Saban senses his players are eager to get back to the field where they'll face LSU and the SEC's No. 1 ranked total defense.
"It seems like it's been a long time since we've played," Saban said following Wednesday's practice. "It seems like we've been practicing for a long time, and I think the players are feeling probably the same way."
With only one practice remaining before the team travels to Baton Rouge, Saban wants to see the team put an emphasis on sound mental preparation for the rest of the week.
"I think the most important thing about this week from here on out is that we have good mental preparation to finish the week. We don't have that many more reps, and we're playing a team that has a lot of multiples on offense and defense in terms of things that they do so I think the mental preparation between here and there is what's really important."
Alabama will hold its final practice of week on Thursday before traveling to Baton Rouge on Friday. Saturday's kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. (CDT) and will be nationally televised by CBS.
