Men's Basketball to Host Alabama A&M

The University of Alabama men's basketball team aims to get back into the win column on Saturday when it hosts Alabama A&M at 1 p.m.The Crimson Tide returns to Coleman Coliseum with a 2-3 overall record after dropping three games in last week's Paradise Jam. The Bulldogs make the trip to Tuscaloosa with a 2-1 mark that includes wins over Talladega and Tuskegee and road loss to Western Kentucky.

Alabama A&M will provide the next step forward in gaining that understanding as the Bulldogs have four players averaging in double figures with Bo Amusa and Casey Cantey leading the way with 11.7 points each while the team has scored nearly 75 points per game. The Bulldogs visit Coleman Coliseum for the fourth time in the series history and have lost the previous three visits including the most recent in the 2008-09 season.
The Tide is led in scoring by JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell with 13.0 points per game each. At the Paradise Jam, Mitchell had three solid games, averaging 13.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and two assists and steals in three games. On the perimeter, freshman Trevor Releford was second in scoring at the tournament for the Tide with 12.3 points per game on 52 percent shooting from the field and a 50 percent mark from three-point range while leading the team in minutes played.
Fans who attend Friday's Alabama vs. Auburn football game can show their ticket Saturday and purchase admission to the basketball game for just $5. Also, Family Fun Packs are available for Saturday's game as well as all non-conference contests. The Family Fun Pack features a minimum of four tickets, hot dogs, bags of chips and soft drinks for $11 per ticket.
Following Saturday's matinee, the team will remain on campus to host South Alabama on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at approximately 7:30 p.m. following the women's game.
