TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Current University of Alabama students will have the unique opportunity to watch the Alabama men's basketball team practice on Tuesday, Oct. 26 as the Crimson Tide prepares for the 2010-11 season.
The open practice, which begins at 4 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum, will give students their first chance to see the Tide's eight returnees and five newcomers in action.
"Basketball season is right around the corner and we need our student body to show up and show out this season to make Coleman Coliseum one of the most intimidating environments in the SEC," UA head coach Anthony Grant said. "We're inviting you to come out and watch us work as we prepare for the upcoming season. So come be part of the excitement."
In addition to the practice, the first 2,000 students through the Coliseum doors will receive free Papa John's pizza and soft drinks. Students can also register to become members of Crimson Chaos, UA's student basketball support organization, which comes with e-mail alerts about upcoming activities, T-shirts and the opportunity to travel to away games.
Following the practice, Coach Grant will speak with the students on hand about his expectations for the season and desire for Crimson Chaos to turn Coleman Coliseum into one of the most energetic and intimidating home court advantages in the SEC.
