Mark Randall Earns Top-Five Finishes at 2010 Commonwealth Games

NEW DEHLI, India - Alabama swimming alumni Mark Randall posted a pair of top-five finishes at the 2010 Commonwealth Games held in New Dehli, India.
Representing his native South Afriday, Randall finished fourth in the 1500-meter freestyle, less than two seconds out of medaling. He touched the wall at 15:15.40, just behind bronze medalist Daniel Fogg of England who clocked a 15:13.50. Canada's Ryan Cochrane was first with a 15:01.49.
In the 400m freestyle Randall finished fifth, with a time of 3:50.87, less than a second out of the medals. Cochrane again came away with the gold, with a time of 3:48.45.
During the summer, Randall posted top-12 finishes in the 800m and 1500m freestyles at Pan Pacific Championships. The Alabama school record holder in the 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyles, Randall finished off his Crimson Tide career with a runner-up finish in the mile at the Southeastern Conference Championships and an All-America performance at the NCAA Championships where he took eighth place.
Randall, who earned his undergraduate degree in August, took home the Tide's Mike Curington Most Valuable and Marshall Shoemaker Most Dedicated awards as a senior.
