
Former Tide Players to Play in ALCS

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The American League Division Series’ have ended and two former Alabama players remain in the hunt to become a part of the 2010 World Series Champions.
Former Tide standouts David Robertson, a member of the New York Yankees, and Tommy Hunter, a member of the Texas Rangers, will face off in the 2010 American League Championship Series. Both teams advanced through the Divisional Series with the Yankees sweeping the Minnesota Twins in three games and the Rangers defeating the Tampa Bay Rays in five games.
Robertson appeared in two games in the ALDS, pitching 0.2 innings with one strikeout and two holds, keeping a spotless 0.00 ERA against the Rays, who scored the third-most runs during the regular season.
Hunter made one start for the Rangers on Sunday at home in Arlington. He lasted four innings, giving up three runs, two earned, while striking out seven. Hunter received the loss, his first loss at home during the entire 2010 season.
The two teams will begin the ALCS on Friday, at 8 p.m. ET, with the Rangers hosting the Yankees at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
