TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama football team practiced for two hours in full pads Friday afternoon at the Thomas-Drew Practice Facility, as preparations for the season opener continue.
No. 5 Alabama meets No. 7 Virginia Tech in the 2009 Chick-Fil-A College Kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. The game will be televised nationally by ABC Sports with kick off set for just after 7 p.m. (CST).
Alabama will be playing its third college classic and second in a row. The Crimson Tide beat Ohio State 16-10 in the 1986 Kickoff Classic in the Meadowlands and beat Clemson 34-10 in last year’s inaugural Chick-Fil-A College Kickoff in Atlanta.
The Crimson Tide will practice again on Saturday at 2:30 p.m., before moving into its normal game week routine on Monday.
