TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Head Coach Judy Green and the volleyball team has nearly reached its season ticket goal for the 2009 season and is offering a gift pack for the next 50 sets of tickets sold.
"One of our ongoing goals is to keep growing in season ticket sales and recruit more and more fans to come support us," said head coach Judy Green. "We are indebted to the people who have been loyal to us these past two seasons. We've increased by a minimum of 25 percent each year, so it is our hope to reach that 250 mark in 2009."
In addition to receiving tickets to all 14 home matches and an invitation to take part in a pair of meet and greets with the Tide coaching staff and student-athletes, fans will also receive a 2009 volleyball media guide, poster and Alabama volleyball T-shirt. Season tickets are $30 and can be ordered by clicking here or by calling the Alabama Ticket Office at 205-348-2262.
Of the 14 home matches, four will be against teams that advanced to the 2008 NCAA Tournament. The Tide jumps into SEC conference play on Sept. 18 for the first of 10 matches against league opponents in the CAVE. Alabama returns eight letterwinners and five starters from last season's squad and welcomes four new players including the National Junior College Athletic Association Player of the Year and a pair of high school all-Americans.
The Tide will kick off its home slate with a match against Alabama A&M on September 1 at 7:00 p.m. before hosting the Bama Bash September 4-5. The two-day tournament will feature Jacksonville State, McNeese State, SMU and Alabama.
