Softball Concludes Season Ranked Third in Final Polls

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - After tying its longest stay in program history at the Women's College World Series the Alabama softball team was tabbed third by both major polls in the final release of the season. Both the USA Today/NFCA and ESPN.com/USA Softball polls had the Crimson Tide ranked third behind Washington and Florida.
Alabama (54-11) finished the 2009 season in No. 3, the same position it had at the end of the regular season. The Crimson Tide won two games at the WCWS, defeating Arizona in record fashion 14-0 and defending champion Arizona State 6-2. Alabama finished the 2008 season ranked fourth in both polls.
