Alabama
- Alabama earned its 20th run-rule victory of the season by defeating Texas 10-1 in six innings. The run-rule victory is the sixth in regional play for Alabama in its 11 NCAA Regional appearances.
- Alabama catcher Ashely Holcombe continues her torrid pace at the plate. The senior from Fayetteville, Ga., is hitting .488 (21-for-43) over the last 17 games with 15 runs scored, six home runs, 30 RBI and three runs scored. She is also slugging .953 with a .569 on-base percentage. Charlotte Morgan has also been on fire and is now hitting .500 (20-for-40) during that 17 game stretch with three home runs and 16 RBI while slugging .800 with a .593 on-base percentage.
- Sophomore hurler Kelsi Dunne improved to 25-3 on the season with a 1.44 ERA and 226 strikeouts. The 25 wins ranks sixth on the Crimson Tide's single-season chart while the 226 strikeouts ranks eighth. Dunne is also a single win away from tying her career high of 26 set during her freshman year (2008).
- Alabama improved its all-time regional record to 26-9 (.743), which includes a 21-3 (.875) mark at the Alabama Softball Complex in seven NCAA Regionals in Tuscaloosa.
- The Crimson Tide has now won 16 of their last 17 games.
Texas
- Texas' loss to Alabama dropped UT's record to 2-2 all-time against UA and 1-1 in NCAA play.
- The loss moved Texas' all-time NCAA Championship record to 25-19.
- Desiree Williams' appearance in the game was the 245th game of her career, making her the second-most tenured student-athlete in Texas Athletics history.
