
Volleyball Hosts First Spring Event on Saturday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The volleyball team will entertain Auburn and Mississippi State in the second of four spring dates for the Crimson Tide on Saturday, April 4. The morning portion of the event will be spent on indoor courts kicking off at 9:00 a.m. (CST) followed by grass-court play beginning at 2:30 p.m. (CST). All action takes place at the Alabama Student Recreation Center.
Alabama and Mississippi State will play in the opening match in the Recreation Center's South Gymnasium at 9:00 a.m. (CST) followed by the Bulldogs and Auburn at 10:15 a.m. (CST). The final indoor team match will feature the Tide against the Tigers beginning at 11:45 a.m. (CST). Each match will consist of three sets being played to 25 points.
The three teams will then head outside to begin grass play on the Recreation Center's Field 5 at 2:30 p.m. (CST). Alabama, Auburn and Mississippi State will each field a handful of doubles teams that will play until approximately 5:30 p.m. (CST). If the weather does not permit outdoor play, doubles will be played indoors at the Recreation Center.
The Tide's final home event of the season takes place Saturday, April 11 when Alabama hosts the Bama Spring Fling. A total of four teams including Georgia Southern, Jefferson Community College, Memphis and West Florida will travel to Tuscaloosa for the tournament that begins at 9:00 a.m. (CST).
