
Women's Basketball Caps off Season with Year-End Banquet

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Women's basketball student-athletes, coaches, staff, family and friends gathered at the Bryant Conference Center Friday evening as the team hosted its year-end banquet. Nearly 125 people were on hand to celebrate the accomplishments of the 2008-09 season.
After a brief introduction, Alabama Athletic Director Mal Moore took the stage to deliver a few words. Following dinner, Head Coach Wendell Hudson addressed the crowd and handed out plaques to the team. In addition, Coach Hudson gave out 10 individual awards each with its own theme.
The Senior Award was presented to Camilla Blands, and Ericka Russell was awarded for her placement on the SEC All-Freshman Team. Next up, sophomore Alyson Butler was given the Academic Award, and junior Dedrea Magee received the Dottie Kelso Award. The Every Day I'm Hustlin' Award was given to freshman Carmen McCoy for her tireless work ethic and willingness to do whatever was asked of her. The final award given, the Commitment Award, had five recipients in freshman Kayla Robinson, Butler, Magee, McCoy and Russell.
Ending the event was a highlight video of clips throughout the 2008-09 season.
