Volleyball Celebrates Season at Annual Reception

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The volleyball team held its annual spring reception Friday evening to recognize the accomplishments of the 2008 season. The event took place on campus at Alumni Hall where family, friends, fans and staff were on hand to pay tribute to the team.
Head Coach Judy Green welcomed everyone in attendance and said a few words about last season, the team, coaches and support staff before delivering the selected awards to their recipients.
A total of seven individual awards were handed out by Green with junior Brooks Webster receiving Offensive Player of the Year, senior Amy Pauly winning Defensive Player of the Year, freshman Leigh Moyer earning the Most Improved Award, sophomore Calli Johnson taking home both the MTXE, Mental Toughness Extra Effort Award, and the Coaches' Award and freshmen Stephanie Riley and Lauren Wintzinger both being given the Academic Award.
Capping off the hour-long soiree was a highlight video and slideshow with various clips from the season.
