TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Rolltide.com and the Alabama women's track and field team have started a new weekly segment called Nine Questions. Select players and coaches will check in weekly on Rolltide.com and answer questions pertaining to things on and off the field. The 1st edition features sophomore Capri Knox.
Rolltide.com: When and why did you get started in the sport of track and field?
Capri Knox: I got started my freshman year of high school and the reason I did it is the year before I played soccer and found out I had some speed so I started.
Rolltide.com: Why did you come to The University of Alabama?
Knox: Well, I had a lot of offers, but The University of Alabama was the only school in the SEC and I figured if I went to a strong school in a strong conference I'll get better training and become a better triple jumper.
Rolltide.com: What are your personal goals and what are the team goals for the season? Career goals for college and further?
Knox: The team goal for the season is for every athlete to hit new personal bests and my personal goal would be for me to jump 41 feet in the triple jump.
Rolltide.com: Where's your favorite track meet to compete at and why?
Knox: I'd probably say SEC Championships, because you get the best of the best there in this conference and you have large variety of people to compete against.
Rolltide.com: What's on your iPod right now?
Knox: I think the last song I was listening to was Wayne, I don't remember which one it was, but I know it was him because that's my husband, haha!
Rolltide.com: Do you have any superstitions or rituals before your event?
Knox: Nope, just say a prayer and do my best.
Rolltide.com: Who's the best dancer on the team?
Knox: Chealsea Taylor
Rolltide.com: Who's the funniest person on the team?
Knox: Ooo, I don't know. We've got a lot of jokesters. I don't know.
Rolltide.com: Who's the best dressed on the team?
Knox: Best dressed... hmm. I don't know, haha. We all come from different parts of the country so we have different styles.
