
Gymnastics Meet vs. No. 5 Auburn is Sold Out

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama gymnastics meet against No. 5 Auburn this Friday in Coleman Coliseum is a sell out the Alabama Ticket Office announced today. It marks the fourth year in a row that the Alabama gymnastics team has sold out its "Power of Pink" meet which raises awareness for the fight against breast cancer.
Both teams will put aside their school colors for the meet and will wear shades of pink. Fans for both school are encouraged "think pink and wear pink" in support of the Tide's Power of Pink initiative, which is in its fifth year. During this year's meet, a check for $185,000 will be presented to the DCH Foundation for the Alabama Gymnastics DCH Foundation Breast Cancer Fund. More than $750,000 has been raised for the fund since 2005.
"This is such a tremendous event and our ladies are looking forward to facing off against Auburn in front of a packed house filled with pink," Alabama head coach Sarah Patterson said. "This is such a vital cause and our fans and this community have been incredible in their support."
There are 1,700 seats available to UA students on a first-come, first serve basis. Alabama students get in free with their Action Card. In addition to being the fourth pink meet sell out, Friday also marks the fifth time Alabama has sold out Coleman Coliseum in the last four years.
Fans are encouraged to come to the meet early. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. and there will be pre-meet entertainment as well as giveaways before the meet starts at 7:30 p.m.
