
Men's Track Gears Up for Husky Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The men's track and field team will travel to Seattle, Wash. to compete at the Husky Classic hosted by the University of Washington. The meet will be held at the Dempsey Indoor Facility on Saturday, Feb. 14.
"Basically, we want the same thing out of this week that we got last week which is consistent personal best marks across the board," head coach Harvey Glance said. "I expect this weekend to be a good follow up from a week ago. I'm looking for the guys to have good meet like we had at Notre Dame."
Alabama will line up against nine nationally ranked teams this weekend. The field is led by No. 2 Arizona and also includes No. 3 Oregon, No. 5 Florida State, No. No. 7 Texas, No. 12 BYU, No. 13 Michigan, No. 16 Stanford, No. 22 Arizona and No. 23 UCLA.
The Crimson Tide will be looking to its nationally ranked athletes to lead the way this weekend. Tyson David is ranked No. 5 in the 3,000m with a seasonal best time of 7:59.81 and also ranked No. 21 in the mile with a seasonal best time of 4:03.11. Emmanuel Bor is ranked No. 7 in the 3,000m with a seasonal best time of 8:00.69.
In the SEC rankings, Alabama has five marks in the top five individuals in their respective events. David and Bor are the third and fourth fastest in the 3,000m, David also holds the third fastest mile and Tyler Boswell and Tyler Campbell are tied for the third highest mark in the high jump.
The meet will begin on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. PST with the women's 3,000m run. The field events start at 11:00 a.m. with the men's and women's pole vault.
