
Volleyball Wraps up Road Trip at Tennessee on Sunday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The volleyball team (7-18, 5-10 SEC) hits the court for the second time this weekend when it takes on Tennessee (18-6, 11-3 SEC) Sunday, Nov. 8 at 12:30 p.m. (CST). In this season's earlier matchup, the Lady Volunteers claimed a close 3-1 (26-24, 25-22, 22-25, 25-23) victory in Tuscaloosa.
Last time out, the Crimson Tide suffered a 3-1 (25-11, 22-25, 25-12, 25-15) loss at the hands of the 11th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats in Lexington. Junior Alyssa Meuth and senior Brooks Webster combined for 25 kills to pace the Alabama offense, while freshman Kelsey Anderson scooped up a team-best 20 digs. One of the biggest factors in the match was the serving game where Kentucky tallied seven aces, and the Tide recorded 11 errors.
Tennessee picked up its 11th Southeastern Conference win on Friday with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-14, 25-19) sweep of Mississippi State. Juniors Nikki Fowler and Leah Hinkey each collected 10 kills to lead the Lady Vol attackers. Fowler also led the match in digs with 16, and senior Farren Powe had a hand in seven of Tennessee's 10 blocks.
