
Alyssa Meuth Named to SEC Community Service Team

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Junior opposite hitter Alyssa Meuth was named to the Southeastern Conference Volleyball Community Service Team for her off-the-court efforts on Tuesday, which was announced by the league office.
Meuth has spent ample hours working with students of all ages in various capacities throughout her three years at the Capstone including at afterschool programs, child development centers and kindergarten classrooms. In addition, the Helotes, Texas native has volunteered at Tuscaloosa area retirement homes. Most recently, she got involved at the RISE Center where she interacts with children with disabilities.
Meuth, a human environmental sciences major, was also a member of the Academic Honor Roll last season. She aspires to one day work with children.
The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 20 league-sponsored sports looking to highlight an athlete from each institution who gives back to the community in superior service efforts. This is the seventh season the SEC has recognized a team in volleyball.
