Bud Cauley Leads Isleworth Collegiate Invitational after 36 Holes

WINDERMERE, Fla. - Alabama sophomore golfer Bud Cauley has the 36-hole lead at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational after firing a second-round 70 (-2) on the par-72, 7,544-yard Isleworth Golf and Country Club on Monday.
The Crimson Tide moved up to fourth in the team standings after a solid round of 5-over-par 293. Alabama is at 16-over 592 for the tournament, 12 strokes off the lead of top-ranked Oklahoma State and eight shots back of second-place Florida (584). Stanford is in third at 13-over-par 589 while TCU rounds out the top five with a 20-over-par total of 596.
After opening with a 3-under-par 69 on Sunday, Cauley carded four birdies and two bogeys en route to a two-round total of 5-under-par 139. He has a two-stroke lead on OSU's Peter Uihlein, who followed his opening-round 68 with a 73 on Monday.
Stanford's Steve Ziegler (-2) and Texas Tech's Nils Floren (-1) round out the four golfers under par heading into Tuesday's final round at the Isleworth Golf and Country Club.
Cauley wasn't the only Alabama player surging up the leader board on Monday as sophomore Hunter Hamrick moved into the top 10 with a 1-under-par round of 71. Hamrick is tied for ninth place after converting five birdies on the round.
Redshirt freshman Scott Strohmeyer also turned in a solid performance with a 2-over-par 74 in the second round. After shooting 3-over on the front nine, he got it turned around with a 1-under 35 on the back nine. Strohmeyer goes into Tuesday's final round tied for 27th place.
Lee Knox was the Tide's fourth scorer on Monday with a 6-over-par 78 and is tied for 60th for the tournament. Thomas Hugghins rounded out Alabama's scorecard with an 85.
The Crimson Tide is paired with Texas Christian and host Texas Tech in Tuesday's final round. The threesomes will begin teeing off at 7:50 a.m. (CDT).
