
Men's Basketball Falls at Clemson 66-59

CLEMSON, S.C. - The Clemson Tigers defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide, 66-59, in men's basketball action Tuesday night at Littlejohn Coliseum on the Clemson University campus. Senior Alonzo Gee and sophomore Senario Hillman led the Tide with 12 points apiece. Defensively, Alabama held the Tigers to its lowest points total of the season. Freshman JaMychal Green and sophomore Justin Knox led the game in rebounding with 11 and 10 boards respectively. Junior Trevor Booker led Clemson and the game with 19 points.
After building an early lead, Alabama trailed at halftime, 33-29, despite holding Clemson to 34.5 percent shooting from the field. Eleven Alabama turnovers hindered the Tide's effort. A scoring spree by Hillman to start the second half spurred the Tide to a 34-33 lead with his three-point basket with 18:46 remaining in the game. Alabama took its final lead at 42-41 on a dunk by junior Yamene Coleman with 14:15 remaining, but Clemson answered with a 14-0 run over the next 7:48 to take control of the game.
With the result, Alabama falls to 10-4 on the season while Clemson improves to 15-0. The Tide returns to action this Sunday afternoon, January 11, against LSU at Coleman Coliseum. Tipoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. CT and the game will be televised regionally by Raycom Sports. Check local listings for the station in your area.
