TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Coming off its winter break training camp, the Alabama Swimming and Diving teams got back into the flow of classes this week and continued to get in some outstanding work in the pool as well as the countdown to Southeastern Conference Championships, which marks the beginning of the Crimson Tide's postseason, is underway.
"We started back to class on Wednesday and obviously we've been working to get everyone's schedule adjusted," head coach Eric McIlquham said. "We did a really nice piece of work during the break and now we're gearing up for the championship season."
With two more dual meets left in the Tide's schedule, the SEC Championships, slated for Feb. 18-21 in Auburn, Ala., is looming large on the horizon.
"Today we're 35 days out from our conference meet," McIlquham said. "Our focus all season has been on the championship season and everyone is really starting to get excited about what's ahead."
There are still tow meets in the regular season, including this weekend's road meet with Kentucky.
"This weekend we go to Lexington for what should be a very good meet with Kentucky," McIlquham said. "They're always ready for us up there and we're looking forward to that, looking forward to getting up and competing."
