
Jumpers Highlight the First Day at Razorback Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The men's track and field team finished day one of the Razorback Invitational at Randall Tyson Track Center.
Through four events in the heptathlon, Michael Hughes and David Clyburn stand in ninth and 10th place, respectively, with three events to be decided on Saturday. Hughes finished third in the shot put and Clyburn was sixth in the high jump.
David Chaplin finished 15th in the 200 meter race with a time of 21.90. Chaplin was .05 seconds faster than last week's performance.
Tyler Boswell placed tied for second in the high jump clearing the bar set at 6-08.75 and is now tied for first place in the SEC in the event. Boswell bettered his last week's performance by over four inches and was just .25 inches from breaking into the top 10 all-time performers in Alabama school history. Tyler Campbell also competed well jumping 6-06.75 to finish tied for seventh place.
In the long jump, Michael Nichols led the way with a leap of 24-00.75 to finish seventh and improve by almost nine inches in one week.
The meet will resume Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with the men's heptathlon. Running events will start at 10:00 a.m. with the men's 3,000m run while the field events will commence at 10:00 a.m. with the women's triple jump.
