
Men's Track and Field Team Concludes Kentucky Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The men's track and field team completed their first meet of the indoor season tonight at the Kentucky Invitational in Nutter Field House.
Junior Tyson David led the Crimson Tide by claiming the mile title with the No. 6 fastest time in school history, 4:05.52. Andrew Kirwa also ran the mile finishing sixth with a time of 4:15.07.
Michael Hughes finished 13th in the pole vault clearing the bar set at 15-01.50.
In the long jump, Michael Nichols and Paul Wynn posted top 10 finishes. Nichols was fifth with a jump of 23-03.50 while Wynn followed in seventh leaping 22-11.25.
Brandon Spradley (6.87) and Ray Jadusingh (6.89) both advanced to the two-section final finishing in 14th and 17th, respectively.
Freshman Aaron Stockstell got his college career off to a good start in the 800 meter race. Stockstell finished fifth running a time of 1:52.93.
The 200m race saw Jadusingh finish in sixth place with a time of 21.49. Spradley leaned across the line to finish 12th with a time of 21.71.
Abraham Kutingala competed in the 3,000m race and set a new personal best by almost four seconds. Kutingala placed sixth with a time of 8:22.63. Stephen Payne crossed the line in 8:39.81 to place 13th overall.
The day concluded with the 4x400m relay as the Tide finished seventh in the event with a time of 3:15.76.
The men's track and field team will take to the track again next week on Jan. 24 at the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
