
Volleyball Places Two on All-Tournament Team

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Alyssa Meuth and Brooks Webster were both named to the Hurricane Invitational All-Tournament Team. The seven-member squad was voted on by coaches from each of the four teams participating.
Meuth finished the tournament with 37 kills, 10 digs and a solo block. In Friday's match with South Dakota State she tallied a career-high 16 kills off 30 attempts. Webster, who was also a member of the Hampton Inn Bama Bash All-Tournament Team, collected 43 kills, 37 digs, three service aces and four blocks over the three matches. Her 20 kills against the Jackrabbits tied her career high previously set against Florida last season. Webster also had her second and third double-double efforts of the season at the Hurricane Invitational against South Dakota State and Miami.
Making up the rest of the team was Miami's Ali Becker and Lane Carico, South Dakota State's Ellyce Youngren and Virginia Commonwealth's Elisa Kuehnel. Miami's Katie Gallagher was named tournament MVP.
The volleyball team returns to action Sept. 12-13 when it hosts the Crimson Tide Invitational for its final non-conference matchups before heading into SEC competition. The Tide plays Samford at 1:00 p.m. (CST) and South Florida at 7:00 p.m. (CST) Friday and closes the tournament with Murray State at 1:00 p.m. (CST) on Saturday.
