
Volleyball Takes Down South Dakota State 3-1

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The volleyball team improved its season record to 3-1 after its first match at the Hurricane Invitational where the Tide beat South Dakota State 3-1 Friday morning at the Knight Sports Complex.
In the first set, the Tide took the 25-18 decision before dominating the second set 25-9. The Jackrabbits came back to edge Alabama in the third set 25-23. In the deciding fourth, the Tide edged South Dakota State 25-20. Alyssa Meuth and Brooks Webster provided much of the offense in the match combining for 36 kills off 71 attempts. Lauren Martin set a career-high assists tallying 50. Leading the Tide in digs was Amy Pauly who collected 15.
Alabama will play its second match of the tournament tonight at 6:00 p.m. (CST) when it faces off against Virginia Commonwealth. The Tide will wrap up its road trip tomorrow versus Miami. Opening serve is slated for 10:00 a.m. (CST).
