TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama volleyball team will host its annual Crimson-White scrimmage this Saturday at 7 p.m. in the CAVE, the Crimson Tide's volleyball arena.
Warm up for the scrimmage will start at 6:15 p.m. and admission is free. Fans are encouraged to come and meet this year's team.
"With five freshmen, and nine underclassmen, we want to invite folks to come out and get their first look at what will be a very exciting team," Judy Green, in her 13th season as Alabama's head coach, said. "We're young, but we're going to play hard and it's going to be fun, so I hope everyone will join us on Saturday to meet this year's group and start the season with us."
The Tide is coming off its third consecutive NCAA tournament appearance, and seniors Amy Pauly and Lindsey Buteyn are trying to become the first class in UA history to earn national championship berths all four years of their careers. Alabama's five freshmen make up what PrepVolleyball.com has named one of the top 30 recruiting classes in the nation this year.
